Saltillo

With an altitude of a thousand 600 meters on the level of the sea, it limits to the north with the municipality of Fields Arizpe; to the south with the states of San Luis Potosí and Zacatecas; to the West with the municipalities of General Cepeda and Vines; to the West with the municipality of Arteaga and the state of New León.

The Municipality is divided in 319 towns, being the main ones: Saltillo, The Dawn, San José of the Hills, Derramadero, San Juan of the Dairy, Dilutes New, Rams, New Ranch, The freedom, Good view, The Narrowness, and Gomez Farias.

Demography

The population of the municipality of Saltillo, according to Population's Census and Housing 2005 of the INEGI, it belonged to 648.020 inhabitants. The population of her Metropolitan Area belongs to 725.259 inhabitants, that which represents 30% of the population of Coahuila and 0.7% of the population from Mexico.

Their metropolitan area, it is integrated in their entirety by the municipalities of Saltillo (648.929), Ramos Arizpe (56.708) and Arteaga (19.622) it has 725.529 inhabitants.
